Award winning began as a child. My father, Ed Gould, was a national leader in genetics, breeding and international sales as a dairy farmer. G-Metcalf Valiant Mist was the highest selling cow at 1.3 million dollars in 1985. The “G” denotes Ed Gould as the first owner – he created Mist. https://www.nytimes.com/1985/07/15/us/vermont-cow-brings-1.3-million-at-sale.html

Winning was the only option when I worked in college athletics at universities revered for their excellence. Supporting the teams who won national championships required me to work with the same level of focus and dedication. The value of quality led to action to reach perfection. We never asked if something could be done, we asked how we were going to do it.

In my work with Big Brothers Big Sisters I partnered with the Beta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. to become the first chapter in the nation to have 100% of their members become Big Brothers. This accomplishment was covered locally and nationally. The state of Virginia legislature commend the chapter https://bobbyscott.house.gov/media-center/floor-statements/commending-beta-gamma-chapter-vsu-of-alpha-phi-alpha

Being first has been my mantra for the last seven years. I was part of a team to start the first food pantry on campus, I co-lead the first ever campus initiative to improve student basic needs and created the first podcast empowering low-income first-generation college students to share their experiences, wisdom and success https://trio.dasa.ncsu.edu/beyond-the-bell-tower/
